This position is in Core Risk Technology, a new group setup to build the next generation risk platform for the bank. This is an ambitious, green-field initiative to tackle the bank's risk computation challenges in new ways, intended to handle ticking risk for the trading desks, a sandbox for Quants as well as FRTB, CVA, PFE and other scenario intensive simulations. The project is a joint-venture with the Quant organization, who are consolidating numerous analytics libraries into a single cross-asset analytics library. Team members will be co-located with the Quants and work together to ensure the new analytics, and the new platform work together seamlessly.
As a lead engineer in the team, you will be designing and implementing core components of this platform. The successful candidate will be comfortable developing solutions using open source and other technologies as appropriate. Currently, the technology stack includes the following:
• Java 11/17
• HBase, MongoDB, Apache Ignite
• Akka
• Kafka, Solace for messaging
Other job responsibilities include:
• Working closely with quants, business users and testing teams, to deliver business capabilities in one or more asset classes supported on the platform
• Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommending innovations that enhance operations and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
• Mentoring less experienced team members
• Providing expert counsel to senior technology leadership
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Java experience, more recently with Java 11 or later
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a senior/lead role
- 5+ years of experience architecting/engineering solutions with caching technologies such as GridGain/Ignite, Coherence, Gemfire etc.
- 5+ years of experience architecting/engineering Big Data solutions with either Hadoop/HBase or MongoDB
- Knowledge and understanding of financial industry front office trading and risk management.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial products and associated mathematical concepts.
- A master's degree or higher in Science or Technology
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule. 3 days in office every week currently

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$191,000.00 - $305,000.00
