We are seeking an experienced, business-savvy Lead Investment Data Analyst to join Mercer Wealth’s investment data function. This person will partner closely with Mercer’s North America OCIO & Advisory teams to deliver high-quality, end-to-end data solutions that support the multiple business units such as operations, investments, performance, business development, trading etc. The role combines hands-on data engineering and analytics with leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery accountability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and operating robust data models, data pipelines, governance and quality processes, and for growing and mentoring a team of senior and junior data analysts that are geographically dispersed.
Lead Investment Data Analyst
We will count on you to:
Lead design, development, and operationalization of end-to-end investment data solutions (ingest → transform → store → serve) that support OCIO & Advisory business needs.
Collaborate with portfolio managers, OCIO operations, risk, performance, reporting, and client teams to translate requirements into pragmatic, scalable data solutions and APIs.
Own data quality, lineage, metadata, and governance for investment datasets (reference data, positions, holdings, pricing, benchmarks, returns, exposures, allocations, transactions).
Mentor and grow a mixed-seniority analyst team and serve as the primary data contact for senior Mercer Wealth stakeholders.
What you need to have:
10+ years building end-to-end data solutions in investment / asset management / OCIO environments, supporting multiple business units.
Deep domain knowledge across master data, holdings, positions, transactions, pricing, benchmarks, returns, exposures, allocations, and corporate actions.
Strong hands-on data engineering skills (SQL required; Python or another scripting language) and experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).
Proven experience implementing data governance, lineage, metadata management, and data quality frameworks, plus prior people-lead or team-lead experience.
What makes you stand out:
Experience in large institutional wealth or bank environments (including proprietary funds or fund-of-funds) and familiarity with Eagle PACE / Markit EDM or equivalent.
Knowledge of investment data vendors and standards (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, SimCorp, IHS Markit, FpML, ISO 20022).
Hands-on experience with modern orchestration and transformation tools (Airflow, dbt, Spark) and data catalog/observability tools.
Cloud-native architecture, infrastructure-as-code experience, and relevant certifications (CDMP, cloud certs, CFA/CAIA, Scrum) are a plus.
Why join our team:
