 eBay is seeking a dynamic Lead Internal Communications Manager, Global Technology Communications to join our team! This pivotal role will serve as a strategic business partner to important stakeholders, responsible for internal communications that inspire, inform, and engage employees, with a particular focus on technology and AI transformation.

This leader will support global tech communications efforts internally while also playing a key role in amplifying eBay’s brand. You'll collaborate with global communications, technology leadership, and executives to develop and deliver communications and change enablement for key initiatives and programs.  

The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on — equally comfortable developing communication frameworks and rolling up their sleeves to craft compelling content. This is a unique opportunity to shape how eBay tells its technology story while helping unify and empower our diverse and globally dispersed teams.

The role requires a communicator who is committed to high quality and innovation. They love the challenge of capturing a leader’s voice, creative storytelling, and working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment. They have communications experience in the Technology/E-commerce space and understand the complex layers inherent in tech company communications, and can assess opportunities to best position eBay as an innovation leader and best place to work.

• Lead and execute employee communication strategies for strategic, global technology initiatives, aligning with business goals.

• Play a critical role in communicating large-scale organizational change, with a focus on technology transformation and AI-related initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with executives to craft and deliver executive communications, including internal messages, presentations, and technology narratives.

• Contribute to the design and execution of communication strategies that support operational shifts, new ways of working, and team productivity.

• Develop and deliver compelling digital, written, and video content that helps drive engagement, recognition, and development for our Global Tech population.

• Support large-scale events and engagements, such as All Hands, AMAs, executive site visits, GT/Global Communications events and activities to engage our employees.

• Work closely with global communication partners to advance eBay’s voice in AI, ecommerce, and platform innovation.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technology and product leaders, providing counsel, clarity, and communication best practices.

• 10+ years in internal/external communications, with at least 5 years focused in the Technology or Ecommerce sector.

• Proven track record to lead communication initiatives across global, matrixed teams.

• Strong written and verbal storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical content for multiple audiences.

• Experience supporting change management and cultural transformation at scale.

• A track record of working cross culturally in a large global company with senior executives on high-visibility communications.

• Keen understanding of modern communication channels and methodology and experience with AI tools for content generation.

• Background in AI, data, or technology transformation communications is highly valued.

• Experience in global organizations with a distributed workforce is preferred.

• Self-starter who works independently and can manage time and multiple projects and deadlines.

• Passionate about storytelling, technology, and unifying diverse teams through communications.

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
