Wells Fargo is seeking a lead infrastructure engineer to support the Strategic Technology Planning (STP) organization by assessing, improving, and modernizing the processes, tools, and execution models used to deliver value across Core Infrastructure Services (CIS). Working in close partnership with the senior CIS Technical Strategy role, this position focuses on operational efficiency, automation, and data-driven execution. The role serves as a key enabler for CIS leadership by transforming manual, fragmented work into streamlined, automated, and insight-driven workflows.
In this role, you will:
- Assess current processes and tooling within the Strategic Technology Planning (STP) organization, with emphasis on risk and compliance workflows, control automation, and priority problem solving for CIS leadership.
- Identify inefficiencies, manual effort, and wasted work across STP processes and translate findings into actionable improvement opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strategic execution roadmap focused on automating processes and eliminating non-value-added work.
- Leverage enterprise tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Confluence, and Jira to design more efficient, transparent, and scalable ways of executing work within the STP organization.
- Partner closely with other CIS staff to ensure execution roadmaps align with overall CIS technical strategy and priorities.
- Provide operational and analytical support for both ongoing initiatives and ad-hoc requests in support of the STP executive leader and their directs.
- Contribute to executive-ready insights, dashboards, and presentations that clearly communicate progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Demonstrate consistent delivery excellence, including the ability to meet short turnaround timelines.
- Operate effectively in a collaborative model alongside senior technical and strategy leaders.
- Show strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ownership mindset.
- Approach challenges with continuous improvement and problem-solving orientation.
- In-office collaboration with Core Infrastructure Services (CIS) directors and executive leadership.
- Virtual presentations and consultative engagement as requested by the STP executive leader or their directs.
- Regular interaction with senior stakeholders to provide visibility into execution progress, risks, and value realization.
- Take full accountability - own the outcome, not just the task. Take the extra step to identify obstacles, manage risks, escalate issues, make connections, and bridge gaps.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years technical acumen in enterprise infrastructure functionality, tools, and operational processes within a financial services environment.
