As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities
- Liaise with business/client stakeholders, technology, and vendor contacts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the design and configuration of Networking devices like Routers and Switches
- Drive a work stream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
- Design, document, and implement end-to-end business partner architecture solutions (physical and logical)
- Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
- Work with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
- Execute creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
- Consider upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advise on mitigation actions
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines concepts, and 5+ years of applied experience
- Strong experience in Cisco technologies in performing configuration of data communication protocols e.g., BGP, BGP EVPN, EIGRP, OSPF, GRE tunnels, IPSec, SSL, VPN, PBR, HSRP, DHCP, QoS, CoS, Priority Queuing, Vlan, STP, Trunking, MPLS, etc.
- Full competency in performing TCP/IP subnetting and familiarity with Microsoft Visio to update network topology is required
- Basic Firewall knowledge and understanding of tcpdump
- Basic understanding of DNS
- Understanding and ability to coordinate data transport infrastructure requirements (carrier POP, building entry, MeetMe Rooms, risers, data center entry, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Drive to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
- Knowledge of F5 and Proxy
