Join us in shaping how ResMed builds, moves, and delivers

At ResMed, our work helps people breathe better, sleep better, and live healthier lives. Behind that mission is a global supply chain that has to be safe, resilient, scalable, and ready for the future. Industrial Engineering is one of the ways we make that real.

We are building a stronger Industrial Engineering capability across our manufacturing and distribution network - one that helps teams see constraints clearly, design better flow, make smarter capacity decisions, and scale solutions with confidence.

The opportunity

You will be trusted to lead critical pieces of our network transformation: site master planning inputs, new line or cell design, high-growth capacity planning, material flow improvements, automation readiness, and distribution/manufacturing flow optimization. You will influence through credibility, structure, and the ability to help teams make clear decisions when trade-offs are difficult.

This is an individual contributor role. You will not need to rely on a formal reporting line to make an impact. You will lead through expertise, evidence, curiosity, and the ability to bring teams together around practical solutions.

What you will do

  • Complex flow and capacity workstreams: Lead high-impact studies and deployment workstreams covering line design, site layout, material flow, labour modelling, WIP, bottlenecks, space utilization, and capacity scenarios.

  • Site master planning and network transformation: Provide the IE backbone for site master plans, growth ramps, footprint changes, new cells, distribution flows, and automation readiness decisions.

  • Business case and value translation: Build credible baselines, quantify benefits, challenge assumptions, and connect engineering decisions to safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and resilience.

  • Cross-functional technical leadership: Coordinate work across operations, manufacturing engineering, automation, digital, logistics, planning, quality, procurement, and finance without relying on formal authority.

  • Standards deployment: Deploy common IE methods, templates, layout principles, data definitions, and capacity modelling approaches across assigned sites or programs.

  • Mentoring and capability lift: Coach engineers, analysts, supervisors, and project teams in IE methods; build confidence and capability through hands-on problem solving and clear examples.

What success looks like

  • Throughput and capacity unlocked: Complex workstreams deliver measurable improvements in throughput, capacity utilization, labour productivity, space productivity, or service reliability.

  • Quality of decisions: Site and program leaders use IE models and scenarios to make better investment, staffing, layout, and sequencing decisions.

  • Deployment discipline: Workstreams meet agreed milestones with clear requirements, assumptions, risks, decision logs, and benefit tracking.

  • Automation and digital readiness: Automation/digital use cases are grounded in sound process design, credible baselines, and clear operational handover criteria.

  • Standard adoption: Common methods and tools are used consistently across assigned areas, reducing reinvention and improving speed to deploy.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, logistics engineering, or operations transformation.

  • Deep practical expertise in line balancing, time and motion studies, value stream mapping, capacity modelling, layout design, material flow, OEE, labour productivity, and bottleneck analysis.

  • Experience leading complex technical workstreams or programs in manufacturing, distribution, or high-volume operational environments.

  • Strong business case capability: baseline definition, benefits mechanisms, scenario modelling, investment trade-offs, and post-implementation validation.

  • Ability to influence senior site and functional stakeholders without direct reporting authority.

  • Experience supporting site master planning, footprint moves, growth ramps, new manufacturing cells, distribution operations, or automation/intralogistics implementations.

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing, medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or other high-quality/high-compliance environments.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent demonstrated continuous improvement expertise.

  • Experience with simulation/digital twin or layout tools such as FlexSim, Simio, AnyLogic, Plant Simulation, AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent.

  • Exposure to MES, WMS/WES, digital performance management, AGV/AMR, AS/RS, conveyor, robotics, or packaging automation use cases.

How you will work

  • Leads through expertise, structure, and trust - not hierarchy.

  • Balances speed with rigour, especially when data is incomplete and decisions are needed.

  • Comfortable challenging assumptions while keeping relationships strong.

  • Builds capability in others through coaching, practical examples, and repeatable methods.

Why ResMed

You will be working on the operating system of a world-class supply chain: how products flow, how capacity is created, how space and labour are used, and how automation becomes valuable rather than complicated. The work is technical, practical, and deeply connected to our mission.

If you enjoy being close to operations, simplifying complex systems, and helping teams make better decisions with data, this is a chance to shape something meaningful at scale.

Joining us is more than saying “yes” to making the world a healthier place. It’s discovering a career that’s challenging, supportive and inspiring.
