Job Summary:

Position is in support of a 400+ person multi-site organization. This position works within a Human Resource (HR) group in support of various HR and related activities for all BHS sites.


MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enforces company policies and practices.
  • Responsible for achieving set goals for the HR department.
  • Assist with ensuring HR is operating consistently with HR, Ethics and Compliance standards.
  • Stay apprised of employment related legislative and regulatory actions for company implications and recommend required changes.
  • Support HR and regulatory / compliance reporting requirements and efforts, preparing ongoing and ad hoc HR and compliance reports.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Lead the department in keeping up with monthly duties and provides feedback when needed.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR team.
  • Co-conduct training, preparing presentations as required.
  • Lead, organize and facilitate new hire orientation.
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with staff at all BHS facilities as well as with vendors.
  • Maintains familiarity with BHS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations.
  • Attends meetings and participates in committees as assigned.
  • Coordinate employee’s onboarding process.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics.
  • Ensure all personnel files are complete and prepared in the event of any organizations audits.
  • Support day-to-day HR processes including facilitating all aspects of the employee lifecycle: offer creation, background checks, on-boarding, employee data changes, employee letters, employment verifications and off-boarding.
  • Manage employee personnel files and all supporting documentation that comes with HR processes in partnership with other HR team members, including documents related to new hires, salary changes, leaves of absences, separations – ensuring items are completed and securely filed.
  • Handles all benefit enrollments by updating the benefit administration system, communications, assisting with explanations, and tracking deductions in the Company system to forward to payroll.
  • Lead/track the annual open enrollment process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • AA degree in related field.
  • Four or more years working in Human Resources; knowledge of HR practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of employees including senior leadership, as well as outside vendors.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical and proactive thinking.
  • Ability to demonstrate/convey respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of all BHS staff and clients.
  • Ability to work as a team member in performing job duties and assignments.
  • Valid California Driver’s License, with good driving record.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Experience in support of organizational training.
  • PHR, SPHR, HRCI certification is a plus.

Able to stand, stoop, bend, squat and reach for purpose of performing job duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing, lifting, and inspecting and servicing vehicles. Routinely lift and move items weighing up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally up to seventy pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use a dolly or cart for any heavy items. Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties. Duties may require occasional use of stool or small ladder.


Skills Required

  • Associate degree in a related field
