The Role

As the onsite Lead HR People Partner, you will serve as the sole HR partner for the facility, providing direct day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees across the site. In this role, you will be the face of HR onsite, ensuring responsive partnership, strong employee support, effective issue resolution, and consistent execution of people processes that enable a positive employee experience and strong operational performance.

This role is expected to expand in scope to support additional employees beyond the Dubois facility, requiring the ability to scale HR partnership and deliver consistent support across a broader employee population.

Embedded within the facility, you will work closely with site leadership to address workforce needs, support managers in leading their teams, and ensure HR programs, policies, and practices are implemented effectively at the local level. You will also partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), People Operations, and HR Business Partners to connect site needs with broader enterprise HR resources.

Core Responsibilities

  • Advise on Employee Relations: Partner with leaders to address complex employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation and employee retention and succession strategies

  • Conduct Investigations: Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and HR COEs to investigate workplace concerns with integrity, empathy, and timely resolution.

  • Execute HR Programs: Lead local delivery of core HR programs such as performance management, employee surveys, compensation planning, onboarding, and recognition initiatives.

  • Enable People Managers: Coach frontline leaders on team effectiveness, performance management, development conversations, and culture-building practices.

  • Drive Adoption of Tools & Processes: Promote self-service and digital HR tools (e.g., Workday) while ensuring data accuracy and improving user capability.

  • Ensure Compliance & Policy Stewardship: Monitor and apply local labor laws, policies, and procedures in partnership with HR and legal teams to mitigate risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of progressive HR experience

    • Strong experience in employee relations, including investigations and conflict resolution

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Working knowledge of core HR disciplines (performance, talent management, compensation, TA, policy administration)

    • Understanding of local labor laws and compliance requirements

    • Ability to analyze situations, identify root causes, and recommend solutions

    • Experience using HR systems (e.g., Workday) and reporting tools

    • Strong business acumen and ability to support operational leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR certification

  • Continuous Improvement or Lean/Green Belt certification

  • Experience leveraging AI or digital tools to improve HR processes

Additional Information

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal to moderate travel may be required based on business needs

  • Work Environment: Office or hybrid environment supporting business operations

  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform standard office-based activities (with reasonable accommodations where required)

The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
