Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Lead to own the end-to-end delivery and product ownership of our integrated Billing Service. This senior leader will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and product owners, driving the technical architecture, roadmap, and execution of a complex, multi-system billing platform that integrates multiple Salesforce orgs, SAP, Stripe, Avalara tax service, and other external systems. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in billing and finance integrations at an international scale.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the full billing service lifecycle: architecture, design, development, deployment, and ongoing enhancements.

- Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team comprising engineers and product owners, fostering collaboration, clear ownership, and high performance.

- Serve as the primary product owner for the billing service, translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and prioritizing the product roadmap.

- Drive clear accountability and alignment across all team members for both technical delivery and product outcomes.

- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders from finance, sales, SAP, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and compliance.

- Define and enforce best practices in service-oriented architecture, API design, security, testing, and release management.

- Manage complex dependencies and risks in a multi-vendor, multi-system billing environment.

- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development to grow a high-caliber billing engineering team.

- Continuously improve billing processes and systems to support international markets, multiple currencies, tax jurisdictions, and regulatory compliance.

Profile:

- Experience leading engineering teams responsible for complex, integrated billing or revenue management systems in international environments.

- Strong product management skills, including backlog prioritization, stakeholder management, roadmap planning, and user story refinement.

- Deep technical expertise in integrations between Salesforce (including multiple orgs), SAP ERP systems, Stripe payment gateway, Avalara tax service, and other billing-related platforms.

- Experience designing and building scalable, reliable, and secure billing services supporting usage-based, subscription, and one-time billing models.

- Extensive knowledge of international tax regimes, compliance, and revenue recognition standards.

- Expertise in service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native platforms

- Strong background in software engineering best practices: CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and incident response.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders effectively.

- Experience mentoring or managing junior product managers or technical leads is highly desirable.

- Ability to operate autonomously with a strategic mindset and strong customer focus.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Hands-on experience with Avalara or similar tax calculation and compliance engines.

- Familiarity with Salesforce CPQ and billing modules.

- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems on a similar scope- Experience with subscription engine (keylight) appreciated

- Knowledge of finance and accounting principles related to billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition (e.g., ASC 606 / IFRS 15).

- Prior experience working in or with finance organizations, understanding audit and compliance requirements.

Reporting Line:

This role reports to the Director of Finance Technology
