You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, working out of Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell’s aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry.
ResponsibilitiesOn our team, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation and new product development projects, directly contributing to the advancement of aviation technology in the Airborne Traffic, Collision Avoidance & Surveillance Avionics space. You will have ownership for hardware engineering development.
- Lead and coordinate hardware teams (board design, mechanical, FPGA, Safety etc.) in development of product hardware.
- Develop project plans and support schedule development.
- Requirements: Use DOORS to create and/or trace hardware requirements to higher and lower-level requirements including validation and verification.
- Lead team to develop and perform hardware verification tests.
- Lead customer interactions and ensure timely and successful delivery of programs within scope and budget.
- Interface with Honeywell Aerospace production (factory) to produce hardware.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering.

QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE- Bachelors or Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in hardware design and development.
- Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
- Experience with hardware Validation and Verification.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with DO-160 and DO-254 and strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
- Master's Degree or advanced professional certification.
- Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
- Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
- Proven track record of successful hardware design projects.
