The Company:
Founded in Austin in 1989, EZCORP has grown into a leading provider of pawn loans in the United States, Mexico and Latin America. We are dedicated to satisfying the short-term cash needs of consumers who are both cash and credit constrained and providing an industry-leading customer experience.
What’s in it for you:
Ground Floor opportunity with EZCORP, a company with a start-up, purpose-driven mentality where innovative and agile problem solving are part of our DNA along with competitive compensation and benefits.
Address:
GuatemalaThe Lead Global Pricing Analyst develops pricing strategies and is responsible for pricing diagnostics across all countries where EZCORP operates, working through proprietary analytical models and recurring reporting. This is a hands-on, end-to-end analytical role: the Lead pulls data directly from company databases (SQL), builds analyses and visualizations in Python, isolates the root cause of pricing performance issues, and communicates verified insights to senior leadership and field operations. The core daily toolkit is SQL, Python, and Claude Code — AI is central to how this team works, used as an analytical co-pilot to accelerate diagnostics and reporting while preserving human validation. The Lead also mentors the other Global Pricing Analysts and is the go-to partner for pricing questions across the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- KPI evaluation by category and country: Build and maintain proprietary analytical models to identify sources of underperformance across key pricing metrics — penetration loss, acceptance rate, and any unexpected decline or growth in pricing metrics in general.
- Weekly/Monthly pricing reporting: Produce standardized weekly/monthly reporting for all operating countries, maintaining consistent formats and definitions week over week to ensure historical comparability.
- Root cause analysis: Perform make/model/driver-level drill-downs on categories showing out-of-range performance, isolating the specific cause of the issue.
- Data quality control: Identify and escalate data gaps affecting pricing accuracy — misconfigured aliases, new models without database coverage, and similar issues.
- Cross-validation and communication: Coordinate with key stakeholders to validate findings, ensuring insights are communicated with a clear narrative and verified data before they reach leadership.
- AI-augmented workflow: Leverage Claude Code as an analytical co-pilot to run diagnostic scripts, accelerate root-cause drill-downs, and structure findings into ready-to-review reports — reducing turnaround time on recurring analysis while preserving human validation.
- Pricing strategy: Develop pricing strategies to optimize business results across lending and merchandise sales — translating diagnostics into pricing actions, and designing, running, and measuring price tests and hypothesis-driven experiments.
- Team leadership: Serve as lead and mentor for the Global Pricing Analysts — set analytical standards, review work quality, and develop the team's technical and AI skills.
- Special studies: Support ad hoc analysis and profitability deep dives; learn system-specific pricing levers to implement pricing adjustments.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 5+ years as a business-side analyst in pricing, retail, CPG, financial services, or a similar commercial environment, with a proven record of turning analysis into recommendations the business acted on.
- SQL: able to independently query and join data from relational databases.
- Python for data analysis, including plotting and visualization (pandas, matplotlib/plotly, or equivalent); comfortable running hypothesis tests on results.
- Demonstrated practical use of AI tools (Claude Code, Claude, or similar LLM tools) in daily analytical work — able to describe concrete workflows where AI accelerated or improved their analysis. This is critical to how the team operates.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Direct pricing experience: price elasticity, price testing, markdown/discount optimization, or revenue management.
- Experience mentoring or leading other analysts.
- BI tools experience (Power BI or similar).
- Familiarity with multi-unit retail, retail lending, or pawn operations.
