As part of AL Maritime, Cryogenic Tank Services (CTS) is a Malaysian entity which was acquired in 2015. CTS specializes in cryogenic tank and equipment rental for the offshore and maritime industries as well as in cryogenic transport of molecules, and provides a full range of repair and testing services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead, GL Accountant to oversee and manage the general ledger accounting functions for AIR LIQUIDE MARITIME SDN. BHD. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting sound financial reporting.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?1. Lead and supervise the general ledger team, providing guidance and support.
2. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements (for both internal and external audiences).
3. Oversee the preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
4. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS) and internal policies.
5. Analyze financial data and prepare various financial reports for management.
6. Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.
7. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
8. Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
9. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in GL operations.
10. Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Education:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
2. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA) is highly preferred.
Experience:
1. Audit and/or Shared Service experience is a key advantage.
2. 8+ years working experience in general ledger management and month-end close processes.
Knowledge Specific to the Position:
1. Requires updated knowledge in tax and accounting matters, specifically focusing on IFRS.
2. Must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
3. Demonstrated experience with multi-currency and hedge accounting is essential.
4. Requires advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reconciliation.
5. The candidate must be adept at analyzing financial data and utilizing business KPIs to identify key issues.
6. Proven working experience with a major ERP system (such as SAP, Oracle, D365, or similar) is required.
7. Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (AX) / D365 is a distinct advantage and will be highly prioritized.
