The impact you will have in this role:

Join DTCC's SIFMU Technology organization and play a key role in building and modernizing the mission-critical Clearing and Settlement platforms that power global financial markets. As part of a highly collaborative engineering team, you'll contribute to a multi-year cloud and application modernization journey, designing and supporting scalable, cloud-native solutions that process high volumes of transactions with exceptional reliability, performance, and security.

Working with modern technologies including Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, Angular, React, Docker, and Kubernetes, you'll help deliver innovative solutions, reusable frameworks, and next-generation platforms that drive business value. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, influence architecture and engineering decisions, collaborate with experienced engineers, architects, and business stakeholders, and accelerate your technical and professional growth while shaping technology that directly impacts global financial markets.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Angular, and React.
  • Build and maintain microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions supporting high-volume transaction processing.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Architects, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives through new development, prototyping, and reusable component design.
  • Drive application architecture, design decisions, and engineering best practices.
  • Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable software.
  • Collaborate with quality engineering teams to identify and resolve defects prior to production deployment.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Support applications throughout their full lifecycle, including production support and continuous improvement.
  • Identify automation opportunities and process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve business outcomes.
  • Partner effectively with geographically distributed teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate, and modern application architecture.
  • Strong front-end development experience with Angular (13+), React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Hands-on experience building REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI services, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, including services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience with Oracle or DB2 databases and PL/SQL development.
  • Experience with application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, JBoss, Liberty, or WebLogic.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools including Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and Jira.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience developing and supporting applications in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and software engineering best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively with globally distributed teams.

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC’s business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology.
