Lead Full Stack Java Developer - On-Site Coordinator

About the Role

SmarTek21 is seeking an experienced Lead Full Stack Java Developer / On-Site Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical contributor to enterprise-grade applications, driving both robust backend architecture and modern UI development, while leading on-site coordination and actively partnering with offshore engineering teams across multiple time zones to deliver business-critical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the technical design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade full-stack applications across backend architectures and modern user interfaces.

• Act as the primary on-site technical coordinator, bridging communication, aligning sprint goals, and driving delivery across distributed offshore teams and local stakeholders.

• Build, enhance, and integrate REST and SOAP web services utilizing Spring Boot, Hibernate, Servlets, JSP, MVC, and Security frameworks.

• Develop responsive client-facing interfaces, reusable UI components, and dynamic web experiences using ReactJS (or modern equivalent frameworks), JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Architect and implement relational database components, queries, stored procedures, and data mappings using JDBC, SQL, and JPA.

• Enforce high code quality and test coverage by implementing automated unit tests with JUnit and mocking frameworks (Mockito, JMockit, etc.).

• Oversee continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and govern source control workflows across Git or TFS.

• Facilitate technical handoffs, conduct architectural code reviews, and troubleshoot production incidents across time zones.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Senior-level professional experience in enterprise software engineering with proven technical leadership or on-site coordination capabilities.

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

• 5+ years of experience building enterprise applications using Servlet, JSP, MVC, and Security frameworks.

• 3+ years of experience with ReactJS or a similar modern UI framework.

• 3+ years of experience using Spring Boot and Hibernate frameworks.

• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript and jQuery.

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with REST and SOAP web services, XML, XSD, and XSLT.

• Strong database proficiency including JDBC, SQL, stored procedures, and JPA.

• Hands-on experience with automated unit testing utilizing JUnit and mocking frameworks (e.g., Mockito, JMockit).

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

• Demonstrated proficiency in source control using Git, TFS, or similar enterprise tools.

• Proven track record of proactive collaboration and technical coordination with offshore and globally distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Backbone.js.

• Hands-on experience with SCSS (6+ months).

• Exposure to Splunk for centralized log analysis and performance monitoring.

• Familiarity with distributed caching frameworks such as Redis or Memcached.

• Working understanding of microservices architecture patterns.

• Foundational knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG / ADA).

Compensation

Salary Range: $120,000 to $130,000 annually
