Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Systems Developer contributes to the development and support of the applications deployed to the organization. The developer understands current technologies deployed and understands how they support business objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support development of a software solution by:
- Developing across platforms/different development environments including SQL Server / C# / .net
- Developing/coding from detailed design specifications
- Configuring software applications based on business requirements
- Support systems design by assisting in integrated systems design from business requirements and developing detailed specifications from business requirements
- Work with senior team members to translate business designs into technical solutions
- Support solution deployment and validation by:
- Supporting solution integration and user acceptance testing
- Providing post implementation support to business
- Developing system testing criteria
- Deploying based on current SOX and deployment standards
- Participate in standards development by recommending functional development standards and integration standards
- Participate in the adoption of new technologies
- Support solutions by:
- Understanding business processes and current strategies
- Staying current on related system solutions and technologies
- As part of a team, participate in the resolution of cross functional and application related issues
- Keeping system documentation current
- Maintaining system documentation
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
- 6+ years progressive IT experience required
- 3+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
- Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred
- Technology/Package implementation experience in multiple functional areas preferred
- Proficient in more than one development platform/language
- Creation of complex detailed technical specifications and systems designs
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
