Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Lead Environment Artist to guide and inspire our Environment Art team as we build Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. In this role, you’ll blend artistic vision, technical understanding, gameplay requirements and team leadership to ensure our environments are visually stunning, performant, and aligned with the game’s creative direction. You will collaborate closely with Art Direction, Level Design, Tech Art, Lighting, and Narrative to bring the amazing world of Prince of Persia to life.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of environment artists of multiple skill levels.
- Provide clear artistic direction, feedback, and paint-overs to maintain quality standards defined by the Art Director.
- Facilitate team growth through coaching, regular 1:1s, and skill-development planning.
- Help scope work, plan sprints, and ensure the team consistently meets quality and timeline expectations.
- Own and maintain the visual consistency between the Bucharest mandate and the rest of the game.
- Collaborate with Lighting and Level Design to ensure environments support gameplay, readability, and mood.
- Partner with Lead Level Design to translate gameplay needs into visually compelling spaces.
- Work with Production on scheduling, scope, risk mitigation, and resource planning.
- Maintain best practices for our mandate.
- Propose visual solutions that balance art quality, gameplay clarity, and performance.
- Foster a healthy, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.

We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Experience shipping at least one AAA video game in a Lead art role.
- Experience supervising or collaborating with outsourcing teams (a plus).
- The ability to clearly articulate artistic vision, strategy, and intent.
- A solid understanding of art pipelines and production workflows.
- Strong awareness of relevant technical constraints, tools, software, and hardware.
