The Lead, Enterprise Data Governance will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial with high visibility throughout the enterprise.
The Lead, Enterprise Data Governance is responsible for driving Humana’s enterprise‑wide strategy for responsible data use and risk mitigation—now including the rapidly evolving domain of artificial intelligence (AI) governance. This role ensures that data and AI‑enabled systems are used appropriately, securely, ethically, and in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards across all business environments.
This position leads the development, implementation, and oversight of policies, standards, and governance frameworks that ensure the right data—and increasingly, the right AI models and features—are used in the right ways, by the right stakeholders, within the right environments. The role plays a critical part in shaping Humana’s posture toward trustworthy and transparent AI by embedding controls related to bias mitigation, model explainability, data quality, monitoring, lineage, and lifecycle management.
The Lead partners closely with business leaders, technology and analytics teams, compliance, legal, information security, and risk management to safeguard Humana’s information assets while enabling responsible data‑ and AI‑driven decision‑making. The role influences enterprise strategy to ensure that innovations in machine learning and generative AI are supported by strong governance practices that protect members, ensure regulatory alignment, and maintain Humana’s commitment to integrity, fairness, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience (7 years minimum) in enterprise data governance, data risk management, and compliance within a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of data classification, data lifecycle management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-wide governance frameworks and policies.
- Experience navigating regulatory requirements and internal controls related to data use (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPP, CDMP, CISM, CRISC) highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance tools and technologies.
