What you will be doing
We’re looking for a skilled, strategic Lead Enterprise Infrastructure Architect to join our D&IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture team. In this role you will be responsible for the Infrastructure layer of the Enterprise Architecture and ensuring that it is capable of supporting effective, efficient and compliant operation of business processes (current and future state).
Rolls Royce has defined a 5 year plan for digital transformation. Critical to the success of the plan is to facilitate the delivery of expected value and assure the technical integrity of the solutions. You will be required to be proactive in leading and developing key strategies that facilitate the delivery of the 5 year plan in accordance with the complex needs of the business and the associated technical transformation.
Rolls Royce operates within an increasingly complex environment that is subject to security, regulatory and compliance standards that must be embodied in the technical environment. This role will be required to work with key Stakeholders, Partners and Third Parties to translate business requirements into structured, sequenced Technical Roadmaps.
You’ll be researching new technologies and their applications while driving large projects and programmes that will shape the future of our business. You will also be actively engaged with our Partners in building a world class Architecture Capability. We’ll actively support your development and your journey to professional accreditation as well as offering flexible working.

Responsibilities
Create and maintain the infrastructure and technology layer of the Enterprise Architecture model (e.g. Client, Mobility and Identity, Servers Storage Cloud and Hosting, Connectivity and UC and Shared service platforms) within the enterprise toolset (e.g. Alphabet) and processes (e.g. Architecture Review Board, Investment Committee)
Lead a team of Enterprise Infrastructure Architects responsible for creating and maintaining the infrastructure and technology layer, design standards and technical roadmaps working with EUX and Infrastructure / Platform & Security Product Managers
Identify and exploit opportunities for rationalisation and exploitation of infrastructure and technology enablers across the wider enterprise estate
Define and communicate infrastructure architecture and interface standards to simplify interoperability and rationalisation
Create infrastructure and technology reference architectures to be used in solution design
Ensure quality and coherence of the Enterprise infrastructure model for the technology layer
Be accountable for creating the 5 year list of roadmap investments for End User Experience (EUX), Infrastructure & Platforms
Create capability to support emerging technology drivers and sponsor innovation to accelerate value delivery within the context of the 5 year plan
Provide architectural assurance for infrastructure changes, assuring alignment to cyber controls, compliance frameworks and risk management

Who we’re looking for
Ideally TOGAF Certified, hold a similar Infrastructure related architecture certification (e.g. VCP, CCNA) or equivalent experience
Demonstrable experience managing, leading developing a team of Infrastructure Architects
Experience developing roadmaps describing the evolution of infrastructure solutions from current to future state including providing indicative costs and timescales
Significant Infrastructure Architecture experience
Strong infrastructure domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas and vendors / technologies: Networking and Network security (Cisco); Client, Identity, Mobility and Unified Comms (Microsoft); Server, Storage, Datacentre and Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) – (HP, Dell EMC, MS Azure); Service Management, monitoring and databases (Oracle / SQL and BMC)
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability adapt style to an audience
