As a Lead Engineer, Plant Design, your job is to lead plant engineering discipline in Valmet’s PEC projects during the engineering phase and product delivery, being responsible for the delivery time and managing the budget within plant engineering. Your location will be Sundsvall, Sweden. The team you will belong to carries out reconstruction or new construction projects for our demanding customers within the pulp and paper industry worldwide. We operate in a global organization where daily contact takes place in many parts of the world. In addition to project work within piping design, your experience and expertise will contribute to the continuous development of our products and work processes. Our world-leading products are energy‑optimized and contribute to environmentally friendly and more sustainable production.
- Coordination of your own discipline, layout, and piping design within the project
- Technical guidance during the design and installation phases
- Quality review of design documentation
- Follow-up of schedule and budget
Support pre‑project work when needed
Lead layout work and piping design in the project, communicate with other disciplines, ensure that contract and standard requirements are met, plan and lead assigned resources, and participate in multidisciplinary design reviews
Participate as a technical reference in the procurement of pipe installation and manufacturing, as well as prepare and follow up quantities for these deliveries
Support installation work at the customer’s site, both remotely and on location
Contribute to the development of work processes and continuous improvements
Who you are: To succeed in this role, you are likely a civil or university engineer with at least 10 years of work experience in piping design within the process industry. You have strong knowledge of design, norms and standards, and in tools such as E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
As a person, you are responsible, take initiative, and work independently while contributing to team spirit. You can apply and share your expertise and have good communication skills. You speak and write fluent Swedish and English.
