Archer is looking for a Lead Engineer to join our AI Product team. This role owns embedded hardware and software development end-to-end, from schematic and mechanical design through firmware and into production. This is a hands-on technical leader who can take a system from prototype to a shipped, flight-relevant product.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and lead development of embedded systems for an embedded device program, from concept through production release.
  • Develop and debug firmware/software for embedded platforms such as Raspberry Pi, integrating sensors and peripherals as needed.
  • Drive designs through DFM/DFT and production readiness, partnering with manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Set technical direction for the hardware/firmware stack and mentor other engineers on the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, systems, and program teams to integrate this new device into the broader Archer ecosystem.

What You Need:

  • Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi and other embedded systems platforms.
  • Demonstrated PCB design experience (schematic capture, layout, and bring-up).
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools for mechanical/enclosure design.
  • Has taken at least one embedded system from prototype through production.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Ability to architect and lay out PCBs, including schematic capture, component selection, and bring-up/debug of prototype boards.
  • Ability to produce 3D CAD models for enclosures, mounts, and mechanical integration of embedded hardware.
  • Background in aerospace, robotics, or other safety-critical embedded domains.

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
