Job Description Summary

This role involves designing solutions, deploying, migrating, managing, and making changes to infrastructure services and End User Services across a wide range of technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, servers, storage, mainframes, networks, Active Directory (AD), SAP Basis, public and private clouds, data center technologies, containers, middleware, databases, modern device management, intelligent collaboration tools, IT asset management (hardware & software), field services, and technical service desk operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design and develop integrated solutions to meet business requirements and improve performance.
• Conduct cost analyses and vendor comparisons of software/hardware systems to ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. Provide recommendations based on the feasibility of various approaches.
• Analyze potential systems investments and prepare supporting documentation for management and customer recommendations based on independent assessments of current and future performance, stability, and life cycle management.
• Provide escalated technical support to customers for systems-related issues, including on-call support via phone or electronic communication.
• Analyze and resolve program support deficiencies, conducting testing to enhance system performance.
• Lead moderately complex projects or significant project phases, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff.
• Apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with standard business practices.
• Develop and implement training tools and documentation for system operations and user training.
• Provide technical consultation on current and proposed systems to internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades of existing systems in accordance with standard operating procedures. Investigate and resolve issues of significance.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Six or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming, or naval architecture.
• Experience with computer hardware, operating system software, and desktop applications, with expertise in one or more specific areas.
• Proficiency in one or more structured programming languages.
• Experience with design principles and applications.
