Valmet Technologies Private Limited is seeking a Lead Engineer, EI&C to oversee and manage all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and control system engineering for our projects. This role involves leading a team, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to the successful delivery of complex industrial solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of EI&C engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Develop, review, and approve electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control system architecture, and associated documentation.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and client specifications (e.g., IEC, ISA, NFPA, BLRBAC).
Perform basic engineering works for instrumentation and control systems as per project demands.
Perform detailed engineering calculations for instrument power distribution, control loops, and instrument sizing.
Specify, select, and procure appropriate instrumentation control equipment and components.
Oversee the design and implementation of control systems, including PLC/DCS programming, HMI development, and SCADA integration.
Conduct technical reviews and audits of engineering designs and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, civil) to ensure seamless project integration.
Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project reviews, representing the EI&C discipline.
Develop and implement testing and commissioning procedures for EI&C systems.
Provide technical support during construction, installation, and startup phases of projects.
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools.
Prepare planning and scheduling for project execution and maintain the performance of the deliverable commitments
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in EI&C engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role within an industrial setting (e.g., pulp & paper, energy, chemical processing).
Strong knowledge of electrical interface engineering within the process
Extensive experience with various types of field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters).
Proficiency in designing and implementing control systems, including PLC/DCS hardware and software (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson, Valmet DNA).
Strong instrumentation and controls engineering knowledge required.
Knowledge of instruments, sensors, transmitters, valves, selection and engineering activities is important.
Familiarity with industry communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Foundation Fieldbus).
Demonstrated experience with engineering software tools for instrumentation design (e.g., AutoCAD, COMOS, EPLAN).
Thorough understanding of relevant safety standards and practices in industrial environments.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
