Design, develop and perform maintenance of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Control and Protection application software for LCC (Line Commutated Converter) and VSC (Voltage Source Converter) HVDC schemes, following full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Execute the analysis, simulation, test, and integration required to define and support assigned components, modules, and systems that meet business standards. Responsible for overall requirements, design, implementation, and testing of HVDC Control and Protection application software. Propose and discuss different solutions and develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline with guidance. Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related. Five (5) years of progressive experience in software engineering within a HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) environment. Work experience to include: Model based development using MATLAB or Simulink; Power systems and interactions between AC and HVDC systems; Hands-on experience in design and development of Event and Rate driven application software; Agile software development methodology; Version control to include: Git, Jira, and Confluence; Defect and task management, as well as related documentation; and Project management. This position allows for a hybrid work arrangement. Candidate may work remotely two (2) days per week, within 50 miles of company location in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $136,552.00-$163,600.00 annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 10% variable incentive compensation.
