Job Description Summary• Independently execute, and/or lead aero design of aero-derivative gas turbine engine combustors for land-based power generation applications, supporting overall engine development program, working in a diverse & dynamic global environment. Seamlessly communicate with stakeholders, provide insights, and propose innovative solutions to technical challenges using CFD as the design tool, strategize and constantly guide less experienced team members.
• Perform hi-fidelity CFD analysis to meet combustor aero performance requirements on durability, emissions, and operability. Contribute to development and improvisation of design methodologies with an intent to introduce new product design
• In this role you will be working with a multi-site global team to understand performance shortfalls, evaluate and propose design solutions to improve performance, validate combustor performance seen is tests with CFD, and facilitate entry into service for the improved designsJob Description

Company Overview

Working at GE Aerospace means you are bringing your unique perspective, innovative spirit, drive, and curiosity to a collaborative and diverse team working to advance aerospace for future generations. If you have ideas, we will listen. Join us and see your ideas take flight!

Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview:

  • Perform 3D CFD (RANS & LES) modelling of LNG fueled gas turbine combustors for land-based power generation applications involving airflow, fuel injection and reacting flow, combustion dynamics and emissions modelling, etc, to evaluate/propose new designs and understand impact on CTQs like fuel air mixing, emissions, combustion dynamics, durability, etc in order to support product improvements and entry into service.
  • Lead & demonstrate engineering problem solving and decision making through active program execution, planning, communication with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Release down-selected designs or solution strategies for rig and engine testing, by going through proper review processes.
  • Work with team members of varied experience: provide guidance to less experienced team members, and take help from more experienced members as required.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy. Strive for continuous improvement of design processes and tools.
  • Use engineering judgment and show ability to propose solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Demonstrate technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
