About the role
As a Lead Engineer - Change & Release Manager in Bangalore India, you’ll be a key member of the Service Integration and Management (SIAM) team, reporting to the Service Owner. As the Change & Release manager you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end Change and Release Management processes within the global IT organization. You will ensure that changes are efficiently and effectively managed with minimal risk to business operations, and that releases are delivered with high quality and reliability. This role requires strong leadership, process governance, and stakeholder management skills, as well as a deep understanding of ITIL practices and enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Change Management Leadership:
Own and lead the Change Management process, ensuring all changes are assessed, approved, and implemented with minimal disruption. - Release Planning & Coordination:
Manage release schedules across multiple platforms and teams, coordinating with development, testing, and operations to ensure successful deployments. - Process Governance & Improvement:
Continuously improve Change & Release processes, aligning with ITIL best practices and organizational goals. - Risk & Impact Analysis:
Evaluate change requests for potential risks and impacts, ensuring proper mitigation strategies are in place. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Service Owners, Product Owners, and Technical Leads, to ensure alignment and transparency. - Tooling & Automation:
Drive the adoption of automation tools and CI/CD practices to streamline release cycles and reduce manual effort. - Compliance & Audit:
Ensure all changes and releases comply with internal policies and external regulations, maintaining audit readiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in Change and Release Management within a complex IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework (certification preferred).
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. ??
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Education and experience:
- ITIL certification.
- Practical experience managing ITIL processes in an Agile environment and with external service providers.
- MSc or BSc in Information Management or a related field.
- Experience in Agile and/or SAFe environments.
- Knowledge of SIAM principles is a plus.
