Lead Engineer (Backend)

As a Lead Engineer at Ozone, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality components of the Ozone API product. With your extensive experience in software development and team leadership, you will be instrumental in driving our technology forward and maintaining our position at the forefront of open banking API software platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain critical components of the Ozone software application.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Contribute to the evolution of Ozone's engineering practices, ensuring the adoption of best practices in software design and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the engineering strategy with the overall business goals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and customer-centric development within the team.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development with a strong background in Typescript, JavaScript, Node.js, and MongoDB.
• Proven experience in software architecture and design, with the ability to independently conceptualise and architect product lines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage product teams effectively, ensuring timely delivery of complex software projects.
• Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Express.js and familiarity with Docker are advantageous.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
• A track record of delivering high-quality software products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience of working in a product-based organised and awareness of product management would be a big plus.
