Job Description SummaryThe lead yaw engineer will primarily support the yaw drive and hydraulic + passive mechanical braking systems through the entire life cycle from conceptual design through detailed design and development, testing, qualification, manufacturing, and installed fleet support. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
   

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
• Working knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing
• Experience with 3D-CAD tools like Unigraphics / Siemens NX
• Excellent communication, project management, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to lead global projects with team members across cultural boundaries
• Ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions
• Established problem solving process knowledge and execution
• Strong desire and ability to drive improvement and change

Additional Information

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
