Baker Hughes is seeking a skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team in Stord, Norway. Our Stord facility is a global Center of Excellence for IWOCS (Intervention Workover Control Systems) and Production HPUs, delivering advanced control systems and support equipment to the oil and gas industry worldwide.

In this role, you will be involved in the development, maintenance, and improvement of electrical control systems used in offshore intervention and production support equipment. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design reliable and compliant solutions for demanding offshore environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing electrical control systems for offshore and subsea support equipment
  • Preparing and maintaining electrical schematics and documentation
  • Engineering and providing lifecycle support for systems such as:
    • IWOCS (Intervention Workover Control Systems)
    • Production Hydraulic Power Units (HPU)
    • Reeler systems
    • Test & Flush HPU units
  • Applying experience and knowledge of electrical design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, IEC, and EN
  • Ensuring designs comply with requirements for hazardous area equipment (Ex) according to ATEX and IECEx standards
  • Supporting projects from concept and design through manufacturing, testing, and commissioning
  • Collaborating with global engineering, manufacturing, and project teams

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline. Other relevant experience can compensate for lacking formal education.
  • Have experience with electrical control system design
  • Be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Preferred to have knowledge of hazardous area equipment (Ex) and relevant standards (ATEX / IECEx)
  • Desired to have experience using EPLAN for electrical schematics
  • Preferred familiarity with AutoCAD, considered an advantage
  • Desired experience with Teamcenter or similar document management systems
  • Preferred completion of FSE course in high and low voltage, with practical first aid training
  • Desired ability to communicate fluently in Norwegian, both orally and in writing
  • Preferred to have a structured and detail‑oriented approach to engineering work
  • Desired ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Preferred problem‑solving mindset with strong technical curiosity

Skills Required
