About the Role
Sedgman Prudentia are currently seeking a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at our Brisbane office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of multi-disciplinary projects, including those related to minerals processing and plant optimisation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience as an Engineer in Australia.
- Experience in heavy industry electrical and instrumentation design, including reviewing and marking up technical drawings and providing construction and commissioning support.
- Ability to prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, electrical and instrumentation design specifications, detailed designs, and work packs/scopes of work.
- Site experience in investigations, scoping, commissioning, and contractor management.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required for this position, with good communication skills essential for regular client interaction.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience conducting early-stage studies for electrical and instrumentation systems, including proficiency in electrical system calculations.
- Ability to lead studies and projects in a discipline lead capacity.
Desirable but not essential:
- Knowledge and experience working with heavy industry clients in minerals processing.
- Registered/Chartered Engineer status, with RPEQ preferable.
- Knowledge of control systems design.
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary consultancy setting.
- Familiarity with process safety and machine safety.
- Experience with studies and (FEED).
- Proficiency in workshop facilitation (HAZOP).
- Project management skills.
- Expertise in the design and specification of electrical and instrumentation equipment for hazardous areas.
- Proficiency in hazardous areas design.
