The best engineers on a platform team don't just keep things running. They make the engineers around them better at it too.
At Elucid, the platform you build is what makes it possible to ship software that gives cardiologists a clearer picture of cardiovascular disease reliably, safely and at speed. We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer who has seen enough production systems, deployment failures and architectural tradeoffs to know what good looks like—and who gets as much satisfaction from helping a teammate understand why as from solving the problem themselves. This is a senior role with broad scope: you'll own CI/CD strategy, guide infrastructure decisions and be the person others on the team turn to when the hard problems show up. In a regulated medical device environment like ours, the stakes for getting this right are real.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of DevOps/SRE/Platform engineering focused experience on AWS environments, with strong hands-on scripting in Python, Bash, Ruby, or similar.
- A proven track record owning CI/CD strategy end-to-end (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar), making decisions about how software gets built, tested, and deployed across a multi-service environment.
- Strong containerization and orchestration skills (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate etc.) and Linux/Ubuntu fundamentals.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, etc.) and a drive to make environments reproducible and self-documenting.
- Proven ability to serve as an informal technical leader: mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and setting best practices across a team.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and QA functions; equally comfortable whiteboarding with engineers and explaining tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment; healthcare or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
- This role is based out of our office in Boston, MA. We operate in a hybrid model with regular in-office collaboration.
- This role participates in on-call rotation that provides coverage on business days from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The rotation is shared among all team members and generally occurs for 2–3 weeks per quarter.
- The anticipated base salary range for this position at Elucid is $190,000-$240,000. Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, relevant experience, certifications, and geography as outlined in the job description.

What We Do
Elucid is a Boston-based medical technology company using uniquely interpretable and validated AI to provide physicians with a cost-effective means to optimize treatment decisions for patients with cardiovascular disease. Advanced clinical insight from Elucid equips physicians with critical information designed to enable precision medicine. Elucid is the first FDA-Cleared and CE-marked non-invasive software to quantify atherosclerotic plaque characteristics compared to histopathology, including Lipid Rich Necrotic Core. The company has published studies for its derivation of fractional flow reserve (FFRct) based on the vasodilative capacity of the vessel wall and estimation of coding and non-coding RNA transcripts (“Virtual Transcriptomics”). This unique information informs improved treatment decisions by physicians leading to better patient outcomes, improved quality of care, and reduced healthcare costs. The Elucid software is available for commercial use in the U.S. and Europe
