The Lead Development Representative (LDR) will be responsible for generating, nurturing, and qualifying leads across a diverse range of segments, including consumer products, automotive, industrial, and Medtech. This role will focus on engaging potential customers, from high-volume contract manufacturers and service bureaus to direct-to-brand opportunities. A proactive approach, creativity in lead generation, and the ability to engage with technical concepts are essential for success in this role. The LDR will work closely with Sales Directors and Application Engineers to drive lead conversion and build a strong pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and develop new lead opportunities through proactive outreach, including campaigns, cold calling, and personalized emails.
- Formulate and execute on creative strategies to engage high quality leads
- Research, identify, and engage key decision-makers in companies with purchasing power, establishing rapport and uncovering needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in Salesforce, tracking all lead interactions and activities.
- Manage towards specific lead generation metrics, focusing on both quality and quantity of generated leads.
- Perform targeted and effective presentations to prospective customers to communicate Carbon’s value proposition.
- Represent Carbon at trade shows and conferences, attending up to once per quarter to network and generate leads.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of inside sales experience, with a proven record of meeting or exceeding lead generation and sales metrics.
- Experience in Salesforce CRM, with the ability to manage and organize data rigorously.
- Background in additive technology or digital manufacturing solutions is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated global focus and experience in sourcing leads and building relationships internationally.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude toward driving new business and uncovering leads creatively.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and research skills, with the ability to independently drive lead development.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively and independently
- Capability to discuss technical and application-based concepts with potential customers, adapting to varied industry contexts.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to trade shows and conferences
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The total target cash compensation range for this sales position is $132,800 - $199,200. Total cash compensation includes base pay and on-target commissions you may be eligible for under the incentive plan for this role. Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Redwood City office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.
