Job Description – Lead Engineer (Palantir)
The Lead developer role in the Data Platform organization, is to ensure design, develop, and maintain core components of Palantir's data integration and analysis platforms, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. The role will play a crucial part in designing and implementing robust, scalable solutions while working with the Cloud/Data Engineering team. We are seeking a lead with over 10 years of technical expertise in development and data engineering space. Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable, reliable software solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure with application requirements and deployment pipelines.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
- Continuously improve existing systems and contribute to the technical roadmap.
- This role requires strong technical expertise as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software development experience, preferably in data-intensive applications.
- 5+ in Palantir experience (e.g., Gotham, Foundry, Contour) or similar enterprise data processing/analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience in building large scale data pipelines, engineering and data analytics.
- Experience in working on data lakes, data mesh, data marts, data warehousing etc.
- Experience in spark and Hadoop ecosystems
- Experience with large-scale data systems, distributed computing, and cloud platforms(GCP/AWS).
- Knowledge of database systems, data models, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, algorithms, and data structures.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Good to have:
- Master’s degree in computer science, engineering field.
- Experience in containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience in security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
- Certification in relevant cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, AZURE or Palantir).
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
