We are seeking a skilled and passionate **Golang Developer Consultant** to join our team. As a consultant in our firm, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful projects for our clients across various industries. This isn't just a coding job; you will be a trusted technical advisor, a problem solver, and an integral part of the client's success.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-performance, scalable, and resilient applications. This role is perfect for a developer who thrives on new challenges and enjoys building robust back-end systems using Go.
Due to the project requirement, candidates must be Singaporean citizens or already hold Singaporean Permanent Residency (PR) at the time of application.
- Develop with Go: Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient, and reliable software using the Go programming language.
- Consult & Collaborate: Work directly with clients to understand their business needs, translate requirements into technical specifications, and propose effective solutions.
- Build Scalable Systems: Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and other distributed systems.
- Ensure Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Participate actively in code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
- Troubleshoot & Optimize: Debug production issues and optimize application performance to ensure stability and efficiency.
- Integrate & Deploy: Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and cloud platforms to build comprehensive solutions.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in the Golang community and broader cloud-native ecosystem.
- Champion strategic AI-first software delivery (AIFSD): You will lead in the strategic integration of AI technologies across the software development life cycle, ensuring its use is deliberate and purposeful, to maximize quality, efficiency and innovative client solutions.
- You will design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients’ problems while working within constraints and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
- You will efficiently utilize and champion DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating devops culture and shifting security left in development. You will cultivate Thoughtworker growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture.
- You are well-versed in two or more languages (Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, C#, etc.C#, Ruby, Java, Javascript, etc.) Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience developing software with Golang.
- Concurrency: Deep understanding of Go's concurrency model, including goroutines and channels.
- API Development: Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Databases: Proficiency with at least one SQL database (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and one NoSQL database (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Version Control: Strong knowledge of Git.
- Consulting Mindset: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- You have led software development teams using Agile, Lean and/or Continuous.
- You have actively explored and advocated for emerging AI technologies, possessing a strong understanding of their benefits and applying thoughtful reflection to their strategic adoption within technical and project solutions.
- You have experience influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed.
- You bridge product and technology by helping to translate business needs to software requirements.
- You have the ability to develop and execute a technical vision with a focus on business value.
- You will act as a mentor for less experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and ability to inspire a team to deliver extraordinary impact together.
- You are resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
