Job Description
- Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances.
- Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as index rebuilding, query optimization, and database tuning.
- Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues and bottlenecks.
Monitor and analyze database performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement. - Plan and execute database migration and upgrade projects from ON Prem to EC2 or RDS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems in a timely manner.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Setup High-Availability techniques like Always ON, Mirroring as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases, troubleshooting issues.
Utilize your extensive experience to design, implement, and maintain high-performance SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability. - Perform in-depth performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and other related issues.
Analyze wait events and proactively address performance challenges to ensure smooth and efficient database operations. - Understanding the new requirements from client and providing approriate solution to client from availibitity , Performance and cloud prospective.
- Oversee and manage database replication strategies, including setup, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of replication in Standalone and Always ON.
Implement and manage AWS DMS, Change Data Capture (CDC) processes to enable real-time data integration and synchronization across databases. - Monitor database health using various tools, set up alerting mechanisms, and respond to incidents in a timely manner to minimize downtime and data loss.
Database upgrades, migrations, and patching while minimizing risks and downtime on both Standalone and Aways ON. - Document database configurations, processes, and best practices, contributing to the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge resources.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in SQL Server database administration.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship.
- Database security patch application.
- Troubleshooting DB - Crash
- Rebuild Database due to Incident.
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
- Cross-training to support SQL in terms of maintenance of physical database structures and associated hardware, network, and system configurations.
- Provides hands-on technical expertise, provides senior-level technical guidance to team members. Knowledge of SQL DB is preferable.
- Work closely with different development teams to understand database requirements and provide support.
