We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Product Management Consultant to drive the strategic direction, roadmap, and operational management of target state BI tools - Tableau, PowerBI, ThoughtSpot and Strategy and broader self-service analytics capabilities. This individual will be responsible for leading product strategy, vendor coordination, release management, license governance, and cross-functional engagement to ensure our analytics products deliver maximum business value.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong product management expertise with deep analytics platform understanding and the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for BI tools and analytics products.
- Prioritize enhancements, integrations, and capabilities based on business requirements and platform evolution.
- Assess new product features and industry trends to drive innovation and adoption.
- Act as the primary point of contact for BI tools external vendors.
- Manage product escalations, enhancement discussions, support tickets, and release clarifications.
- Provide regular product updates, risks, and insights to leadership.
- Oversee license allocation, renewals, usage optimization, and cost management.
- Partner with Finance and Procurement for budgeting and contract reviews.
- Maintain adherence to security, compliance, and access management standards.
- Manage product change requests (CRs), requirement gathering, and prioritization.
- Coordinate testing, UAT validation, and feature release communications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve platform issues in collaboration with engineering and vendors.
- Work closely with Business, Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Security teams to deliver product capabilities.
- Conduct demos, training sessions, and enablement programs to increase platform adoption.
- Translate complex analytics needs into feasible product solutions.
- Track and report KPIs such as adoption metrics, performance trends, license utilization, and cost efficiency.
- Provide periodic updates to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to enhance user experience and analytical impact.
- 5+ years of data product or data management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of total experience, including 5+ years in product management within analytics, BI, or data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot or Strategy or similar self-service BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker).
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle, roadmap planning, and release processes.
- Proven experience managing vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Familiarity with agile/SAFe methodologies.
- Background in analytics, data governance, or enterprise data management.
