About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineering to lead the data pipeline and analytical reporting technology development efforts for Wealth Management Data Solutions. In this role, you will provide design for ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) application supporting reporting and analytics. This Lead Data Engineer will lead a high-performing data engineering team and will be responsible for overseeing the development of software solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic business and product objectives. In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale software planning for the Technology area
Design, develop, and run tooling to discover problems in data and applications and report the issues to engineering and product leadership
Review and analyze complex software enhancement initiatives for business, operational or technical improvements that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted data engineering situations requiring understanding of software package options and programming language and compliance requirements that influence and lead Technology to meet deliverables and drive organizational change
Strategically collaborate and consult with internal partners to resolve highly risky data engineering challenges
Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk.
Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost.
Building reusable virtualized datasets to reduce redundancy.
Improving governance and delivery standard across Analytical Reporting technology.
Refactoring and Reengineering legacy SQL Server and MS access-based dependencies.
Provide technical leadership and enforce engineering best practice.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years working in an Agile or Kanban development environment
5+ years of working with DevOps CI/CD tools (GitHub or Jenkins)
5+ years of experience with SQL Server database design and development
5+ years of experience with Python development
Desired Qualifications:
5+ Years of developing enterprise-scale data modeling and pipeline engineering
5+ Years of developing modern data pipeline design, development and orchestration
5+ Microservice, Restful API, and Containerization Design and Development
5+ Power BI or Tableau Reporting Development
