Job Description

The Lead Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Solution Architect provides technical and commercial leadership across the full spectrum of cybersecurity domains, integrating business objectives, risk posture, and compliance requirements into secure, scalable, and commercially sound solutions. The role requires a well-rounded professional with deep expertise across all major areas of cybersecurity including identity and access management, network and perimeter security, cloud and hybrid security, data protection and privacy, application and API security, endpoint and infrastructure protection, threat detection and response, and governance, risk and compliance (GRC).

In addition to pre-sales excellence, the Lead Architect must bring practical delivery architecture experience, ensuring proposed solutions are technically robust, achievable, and aligned with operational realities. Strong experience in developing Security System Plans (SSPs), Security Risk Management Plans (SRMPs), and related accreditation artefacts under the Australian Government’s ISM, PSPF, and SOCI Act is highly valued.

Reporting to the Cybersecurity Practice Lead, this permanent role acts as a senior subject-matter expert and trusted advisor, bridging business strategy, security governance, and technical delivery. It ensures that proposed solutions are defensible, compliant, and deliverable, reinforcing the organisation’s reputation for excellence in cybersecurity architecture, design assurance, and compliance leadership.

Qualifications

  • Strong demonstrable experience with cybersecurity experience, including at least strong background in solution architecture or pre-sales leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated delivery architecture experience in enterprise or government environments.
  • Proven experience contributing to or authoring SSPs, SRMPs, and related accreditation artefacts.
  • Lead the design of holistic, multi-domain cybersecurity architectures that are secure, compliant, and practical for implementation.
  • Participate in client workshops, discovery sessions, and RFP/RFI responses, translating business, technical, and compliance requirements into value-driven architectures.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with recognised frameworks such as ISM, PSPF, SOCI, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF.
  • Provide technical governance, risk identification, and assurance throughout the pre-sale lifecycle.
  • Contribute to or review SSPs, SRMPs, and related accreditation artefacts to ensure continuity between design and delivery.
  • Support sales and commercial teams with accurate design documentation, effort estimates, and compliance mapping.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and vendor partners to integrate advanced security capabilities such as Zero Trust, SASE/SSE, CNAPP, and DSPM.
  • Mentor and develop architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Maintain strong relationships with strategic technology partners including Microsoft, Palo Alto, AWS, CrowdStrike, Okta, SailPoint, and Splunk while staying informed on evolving threats, technologies, and compliance trends.
  • Well-rounded cybersecurity expertise combining technical depth, delivery experience, governance understanding, and business acumen.
  • Strong working knowledge of security accreditation and compliance processes including SSPs, SRMPs, and risk assessments.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into executable, cost-effective architectures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • High commercial and analytical acumen, balancing compliance, security posture, and business value.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach with strong stakeholder management across internal teams, clients, and partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
