The Lead Cyber Threat Analyst provides strategic cyber threat intelligence and expert analysis to support informed decision-making and the protection of critical systems and information. The role leads complex threat research, modelling and reporting activities, mentors analysts, and contributes to the continuous maturity of cyber threat intelligence capabilities, frameworks and practices.


Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Lead the research, analysis and production of complex cyber threat intelligence assessments and reporting.
  • Conduct advanced threat modelling to identify, track and assess current and emerging cyber threat actors and techniques.
  • Analyse cyber threat event data and fuse it with multiple intelligence sources to develop accurate and actionable insights.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the application of analytical tools, methodologies and techniques used in cyber threat intelligence.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality written and verbal briefings for senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Mentor and guide team members in analytical tradecraft, threat analysis techniques and intelligence reporting standards.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve standard operating procedures and supporting documentation for threat intelligence operations.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, workshops or knowledge-sharing activities to uplift team capability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver tailored intelligence products and support capability growth.
  • Evaluate cyber threat intelligence strategies, initiatives, policies and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and increased effectiveness.

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience conducting complex cyber threat intelligence analysis, threat modelling or threat assessments.
  • Proven ability to produce and maintain high-quality, complex cyber threat intelligence reporting for senior audiences.
  • Strong experience using analytical tools and techniques to assess cyber threat activity and adversary behaviour.
  • Advanced understanding of cyber threat actors, tactics, techniques and procedures across enterprise or cloud environments.
  • Experience fusing cyber event data with multiple information sources to generate actionable intelligence.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring analysts and contributing to team capability development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Experience developing or maintaining operational procedures, frameworks or analytical standards.
  • Ability to operate autonomously on complex, ambiguous problems while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
