SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own end-to-end technical architecture of phased array communication systems, from initial concept through detailed design, prototype, and production delivery
- Define and maintain system requirements, interface control documents, and design verification plans
- Lead internal and customer-facing technical design reviews, presenting to engineering leadership and external partners
- Collaborate with the systems engineering team on requirements flow-down from operational and customer needs
- Mentor and guide the Munich engineering team as it grows
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline
- 12+ years of experience developing advanced communications systems in satellite, defense, or aerospace - with demonstrable experience at system architecture level.
- In-depth understanding of RF electronics, communication systems, and associated technologies such as digital systems, embedded software, FPGAs, and power electronics.
- Track record of driving architecture decisions independently across multi-disciplinary engineering teams, without appreciable supervisory direction.
- Proven experience working with technical customers, developing strong relationships, and translating their needs into actionable product requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with high-reliability electronics and systems, particularly in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with small satellite systems and their unique requirements
- Background in defense or aerospace platform integration
- Comfortable operating as the senior technical authority in a new team build - setting standards, establishing processes, and making consequential design decisions.
- Fluent in English; working proficiency in German beneficial.
