About the Team:
The Machine Shop team delivers high-precision, high-quality machined components that are critical to Terran R’s success. Here, you’ll combine technical skill with creativity, collaborating closely with engineering and design teams to drive better part designs and manufacturing solutions. You’ll work with best-in-class, premium machinery and get to bring our expanded, state-of-the-art machine shop to life to support the scale and pace of the Terran R program. This role offers the rare chance to see your craftsmanship directly integrated into flight hardware, making an immediate impact. With clear training pathways, you’ll have opportunities to advance from operating machines to programming them, growing your career alongside the program.
About the Role:
- Lead the team of CNC Programmers
- Mentor and coach your team to develop their personal career goals and meet the future needs of the business
- Create seamlessly executable CAM files, G-Code, and machining process
- Collaborate with team to architect the machining process, accounting for cutting tool selection, machine capabilities and kinematics, and work-holding
- Support trouble shooting of processes, Non-Conformances, and operational challenges
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Leadership, Design Engineering, and machinists to improve product design and a world class machine shop with the right systems, capabilities, and software
About You:
- 6+ years of experience with progressively increasing scope and complexity in CNC machining environment
- 2+ years of leadership in a fast-paced environment
- High level of technical understanding related to CNC Machining
- Strong understanding of GD&T
Nice to haves, but not required:
- Proven ability to develop a team of CNC programmers
- Understanding of business systems, ERP, MES, PLM, CAD, CAM, etc. and how they support a production system.
