Salary from: £74,400 per annum (DOE and location) plus 10% bonus

As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the platforms that support our digital services. You’ll help build secure, reliable and scalable cloud solutions that enable our teams to deliver high-quality care and support to customers.
This is a leadership role where you’ll guide technical direction, support colleagues and influence how we develop and operate our cloud platforms. How you’ll help us make health happen
As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:
Lead the design, build and evolution of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure
Set technical direction and support best practices for platform engineering
Ensure systems are secure, reliable and scalable
Drive automation and continuous improvement of platform services
Collaborate with engineering, security and operations teams
Support the delivery of applications by providing robust platform capabilities
Monitor performance and respond to incidents to maintain service quality
Coach and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and guidance
Ensure solutions align with internal standards and regulatory requirements
Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role
We’re looking for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer who:
Has strong experience working with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP)
Demonstrates expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure and automation
Has experience leading or mentoring engineers
Is confident working with deployment, monitoring and configuration tools
Has knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell or similar)
Understands security, reliability and performance in cloud environments
Communicates clearly and works well with a range of stakeholders
Takes a proactive, solution-focused approach
