Lead - Cloud DevOps Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic cloud and platform engineering team. This role is well suited for engineers who are passionate about Cloud Platforms, DevOps automation, Reliability engineering, and leading technical initiatives. As a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps capabilities across our Cloud Runtime Environments. You will work closely with Platform, SRE, security, and Development teams to ensure Cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, reliable, and easy to consume.
What you will do:
Cloud Platform & DevOps Leadership:
- Take ownership of Cloud DevOps and automation capabilities across multiple environments.
- Lead by example in defining and applying best practices, standards, and reusable patterns.
- Guide and mentor Cloud DevOps engineers and SREs, supporting their technical growth.
- Act as a key technical contact for Cloud reliability, automation, and DevOps topics.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation:
- Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
- Define IaC standards, modules, and Environment strategies.
- Drive an automation‑first approach to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
CI/CD & GitOps
- Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
- Promote and support GitOps principles to ensure consistent and automated platform reconciliation.
- Enable secure, scalable, and efficient delivery pipelines across environments.
Monitoring, Observability & Reliability
- Define and implement monitoring and observability standards for cloud platforms.
- Set up dashboards, alerting, and SLIs/SLOs for platform and shared services.
- Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to improve system reliability.
Cloud Runtime Environment Operations
- Ensure stable and scalable operation of Cloud Runtime Environments (e.g., AKS-based platforms).
- Drive improvements in operational readiness, resilience, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Collaborate with SRE and operations teams to improve runbooks and on-call effectiveness.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Apply cloud security best practices across infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance and governance requirements.
- Support secure-by-default platform configurations and access controls.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Collaborate with development teams to enable self-service DevOps and cloud capabilities.
- Create and maintain clear documentation, standards, and usage guidelines.
- Support knowledge sharing and internal enablement initiatives.
What you should have:
- 5 to 8 years of total professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Proven experience working as a Senior or Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or SRE.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, especially AKS, networking, security, and cloud-native services.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized workloads in production environments.
- Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools and GitOps workflows (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, ArgoCD).
- Experience setting up monitoring and observability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and modern observability practices is a plus.
- Understanding of API management concepts and tools (e.g., Tyk or similar API gateways).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex, distributed systems.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, standards, and runbooks.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across multiple teams.
- Preferably certified as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
