Be part of the Leadership team that is responsible for providing Aerospace level certification oversight. The Product Assurance Airworthiness & Certification (PAAC) organization has a Lead Certification Engineer position available.  The successful candidate will be expected to meet qualification criteria for the Honeywell Aerospace TSO Specialist. 

Responsibilities

KEY REPONSIBILITES


You will be responsible for adherence to the Honeywell Aerospace and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Partnering for Safety Plan (PSP) and work with members of leadership from various product groups to ensure TSO projects are compliant with regulations and the Honeywell Aerospace TSO manual. You will provide technical leadership to a group of talented professionals who provide expertise to facilitate the successful installation and certification of Honeywell Aerospace products.


As a senior member of the certification engineering team, other responsibilities include providing guidance and mentoring junior level Certification Engineers, providing guidance in work estimates and project schedules, coordinating with Aftermarket and Product Program managers, and supporting technical and certification strategy discussions with customers and internal Honeywell Aerospace stakeholders.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 6 years’ experience in the development and certification of avionics systems & equipment
  • A US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control and ITAR restrictions.
  • Ability to travel

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aerospace or equivalent discipline
  • Knowledge of DO-160 environmental qual, ARP4754, ARP 4761, DO-254 hardware design assurance standard for airborne electronic hardware, DO -178 Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification 
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience
  • Knowledge of aircraft wiring and associated documentation is preferred 
  • Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, flight controls, flight management systems is an asset 
  • Demonstrated communication skills with both internal and external customers as well as leadership
  • Self-directing with ability to manage to schedules & metrics is preferred 
  • A proven ability for fostering excellent customer/certification agency relationships is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and productivity gains through use of collaborative team methods is preferred
