Role Overview:
As a Lead, IT Automation Engineer, you bring a systems-thinking mindset to solving complex operational challenges across the organization. You design, build, and maintain automations that streamline critical IT processes, ranging from onboarding and offboarding to compliance operations. You’re deeply familiar with tools like Okta, Google Workspace, and AWS, and you're passionate about eliminating manual work through workflow automation platforms like n8n, Zapier, or Workato. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional collaboration is key, and you're constantly thinking about how automation can drive both efficiency and compliance.

What you do each day:
- Automate employee lifecycle processes including account provisioning, permissions, and deactivation across platforms like Okta, Google Workspace, and AWS
- Design and implement cross-system workflow automations using platforms such as Zapier, n8n, or Workato
- Build integrations for data synchronization between tools like Salesforce, Jira, Slack, and others
- Maintain and monitor automation health, logging, and error handling to ensure reliability
- Develop automated processes for recurring security and compliance tasks such as access reviews, audit reporting, and vulnerability scans
- Partner with People, Security, and Engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable solutions
- Document automation logic, architecture, and operational procedures for long-term sustainability
- Build and maintain alerting systems to detect anomalies and enforce policy controls
- Ensure all automation adheres to internal compliance and security standards
- Continuously evaluate new tools and platforms to enhance our automation stack
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems, DevOps, or automation engineering
- Advanced experience with identity and access management tools (i.e. Okta, Google Workspace, AWS IAM)
- Proficiency in workflow automation platforms (i.e. Zapier, n8n, Workato)
- Experience scripting with Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for automation tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

Location Dependent Information
This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is $95k - $110k + Equity. The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
