About the Role

Uber Freight is seeking a Lead Business Development Representative I to lead the expansion of our Customs product in Mexico. In this role, you will act as both strategic lead and tactical owner, developing and executing a joint go-to-market strategy in close partnership with our Mexico commercial team. Additionally, you will provide subject matter expertise on qualified customs opportunities, driving solution design, proposal development, and new account acquisition.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Direct end-to-end launch and program operations, mitigating interdependencies and risk across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strengthen executive-level relationship management through high-impact cadence (M&A reviews, monthly/quarterly business reviews).
  • Develop and execute a top-of-funnel go-to-market strategy in partnership with the commercial team to build and convert a high-impact customs pipeline.
  • Refine the Mexico Customs value proposition and seamlessly integrate it into operational, marketing, and customer acquisition workflows.
  • Deliver targeted sales enablement programs to the commercial organization, establishing best practices for positioning, selling, and winning Mexico Customs opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and proactively launch targeted campaigns in collaboration with SDR and Sales teams to accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Lead and deliver executive-level Customs webinars and thought-leadership sessions in partnership with Customs leadership.
  • Produce high-impact marketing collateral, including customer pitch decks, case studies, and solution one-pagers.
  • Serve as a primary subject matter expert and industry thought leader representing Uber Freight across the Mexican Customs market.
  • Partner with sales and account management organization to shepherd complex customs opportunities seamlessly through the sales lifecycle.
  • Orchestrate comprehensive discovery frameworks enabling sales teams to properly qualify and position Uber Freight for Mexico Customs solution design.
  • Architect tailored Customs solutions for prospective and existing clients, directing proposal creation, value alignment, and post-sale implementation support.
  • Cross-Sell & Bundle Monetization: Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to target standalone brokerage/4PL clients with bundled Mexico Customs solutions.
  • Drive operational and commercial alignment with strategic channel partners to maximize cross-border drayage and Mexican customs volume.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of domain experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or cross-border logistics specifically within the Mexico market.
  • 5+ years of strategic commercial leadership experience, such as general management, business development, or sales account leadership, with a track record of driving pipeline growth and account acquisition.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally across sales, operations, product, and executive leadership teams to align commercial goals with operational capability.
  • Bilingual fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong verbal and written executive communication skills in both languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in freight, logistics, customs brokerage, cross-border transportation, managed transportation, or supply-chain technology.
  • Experience developing or implementing go-to-market plans, including account targeting, sales enablement, and solution design..
  • Demonstrated ability to build influence internally while working cross-functionally without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate commercial terms into clear operating processes and executive-level updates.

Benefits & Compensation for U.S. Employees

Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more.  US based employees may also be eligible for a performance or sales incentive bonus program, participation in Uber Freight equity awards, and other types of compensation depending upon the role.

Texas: The target base salary for this position is between $95,600 - $137,500
