At SimCorp, we facilitate the streamlining of investments, accounting, and operations for major global financial institutions. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. To introduce our software to our clients, business consultants are essential to us.  

In the role of Lead Business Consultant specializing in IBOR (Investment Book Of Records), your participation will be instrumental in the expansion of our market unit and in advancing the outcomes of our clients' projects.  

You will normally be working full-time on implementation projects, which require your special expertise in the IBOR area, and you will be responsible for all aspects of the project stream.  

You will act as an important sparring partner for your clients and effectively monitor, coordinate, and escalate issues as needed. 

 

What you will be responsible for 

  • Responsibility for major parts of SimCorp Dimension® implementation projects: You know the customers‘ requirements and processes related to Investment Operations at banks, asset managers and insurers and outline solutions for optimal use of SimCorp Dimension® 

  • Close cooperation with the project manager and key role in developing projects to success 

  • Gain understanding of Simcorp’s Global Standard Solutions and utilize them for project delivery

  • Key contact for our customers for all questions in connection with SimCorp Dimension® 

  • Instruct and mentor less experienced colleagues on the job 

  • Contribute to improving best practices for implementation processes and promote topics across projects 

  • Actively participate in know-how exchange with colleagues on an international level

As our preferred candidate you have:

  • Previous experience as an Implementation Consultant for asset managers, asset owners, banks or consulting firms

  • Excellent know-how in at least two of the following areas:

Our candidates will have experience in one or more of the following fields:

  • Asset Management – Back Office – or Financial Reporting

  • Consulting or Professional Services within the Asset Management sector

  • An implementation role for a software vendor specializing in Asset Management software

  • Asset Management candidates should have 3-5 years of experience working hands on with the investment operations function and related enterprise applications

  • Consultants should have experience with multiple enterprise implementations involving IBOR functions on the buy side, and hands on experience with applications similar to Simcorp Dimension

Priority skillsets — areas of immediate team need:

We are actively seeking candidates with hands-on implementation experience in one or more of the following areas, as these represent current growth priorities for our team:

  • Asset Servicing: Corporate Actions (SCD processing + SWIFT flows); Asset Transfer including In-Kind transfers

  • Cash Processing: End-to-end cash management and processing workflows

  • Collateral Management: Collateral processing and optimization within investment operations

  • Fees Processing: Fee calculation, accrual, and settlement workflows

  • Reconciliation: Position, cash, and/or transaction reconciliation processes

  • Technical — Auxiliary & Batch Jobs: Configuration and troubleshooting of Aux Jobs and Batch Job scheduling within SimCorp Dimension®

  • Technical — Communication Server: Setup and management of Communication Server for automated message handling and external connectivity

Candidates with depth in any of the above areas are strongly encouraged to apply, even if other areas are still developing.

  • Experience with Trade processing including confirmation and/or trade settlement processes and solutions is a plus

  • Degree within Business discipline (Accounting, Finance, or Economics) or Mathematics/Applied Sciences preferred

  • Self-starter with a can-do mindset

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and deliver the results on time

  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English – both oral and written

  • Basic understanding of financial industry/products and related accounting

  • Hands-on experience with SimCorp Dimension is a plus

  • Ability to travel to client’s site (up to 50%)

  • Can attend the SimCorp office 2x/week as per our hybrid policy in Toronto or 3x/week in New York

For Toronto only: The salary range for this position is $115,040 - $165,040 CAD. Base pay may vary based on factors such as years of experience, skills and qualifications. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including health and dental care, time off and Group RRSP/TFSA.  

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $139,000 - 173,000 USD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.
