Job Description:
We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer who is passionate about building high-quality software solutions in an agile development environment. You should be able to design testable, scalable, and quality code in accordance with clean code principles and company code ethics. You should be able to analyse user requirements and design, develop, and install software systems to meet those needs. You are supposed to have good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and acquire a good insight into software systems by understanding the interactions and dependencies among different components.
Your performance as a Lead Data Engineer will directly impact the quality of the software ValueMomentum produces. If you are a graduate with 5-7 years of professional experience who is looking to build a career solving data science and azure data problems in a rapidly growing software and services company with a dynamic work environment, then this position is for you.
Must have skills:
- An ideal candidate should have a good academic background with at least a B.E./B. Tech degree in computer science engineering with 5-7 years of work experience.
- Excellent prior experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Synapse, CosmosDB.
- Excellent prior experience in handling data from various sources such as: SQL, XML, JSON, Excel/CSV etc.
- Knowledge in data security and debugging, troubleshooting the Azure data solutions.
- Hands-on experience working with large scale data and analytics platforms - including data warehouses, database, data storage, collection and aggregation models, techniques, and technologies, with the ability to apply such methods to solve business problems.
- Knowledge of best practices in data infrastructure, modelling, integration, warehousing, performance optimization, security, governance, and analytics.
- Candidate should be having good communications skills.
Nice to have skills:
- Preference would be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following: Azure Data Lake Analytics, Snowflake, Statistical methods, and Advanced Analytics.
- Preference for prior hands-on experience in Big Data technologies such as Databricks and Spark libraries – PySpark and SparkSQL.
- Preference for certified Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Domain exposure in Banking, Mortgage, Insurance or Healthcare industry.
Your Key Accountabilities:
- Extracts data from various structured and unstructured data sources and build data pipelines to cleanse, standardise, transform, and load data into Azure Data Lake Store, Synapse.
- Experience in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes.
- Apply scaling, automation, and data preparation techniques - Introduce incremental improvements to data analysis, visualization, and presentation techniques to communicate discoveries.
- Work closely with the Tech Lead and convert the technical specifications to implementation.
- Demonstrate in-depth business knowledge to initiate and drive discussions with business stakeholders to identify business issues and solve business problems.
- Train and mentor junior Data Engineers.
