Lead Application Engineering - Power Generation / Energy Solutions

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Application Engineer to provide specific engineering, applications and technical support through the preparation of project specific designs and supporting technical documentations in Sales bids and Operational projects.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Sales Teams to understand customer needs and to develop engineered solutions that are practical to implement, address the customer need and meet the required financial metrics, utilizing standard Aggreko equipment where practical.

• Works closely with the Global & Local Operation & Engineering team in order to develop the proposed technical solutions.

• Support the sales team by attending customer meetings and presenting technology and application overviews.

• Providing energy solutions to customers, including design and technical services related to the construction and operation of power plants, particularly bridging power facilities.

• Engineering design for electricity supply, with an emphasis on securing reliable, stable, and safe power delivery to satisfy customer needs

• Provide technical sales training for new and existing technologies.

• Responsible for the concept development and accuracy of  outline engineering for complex sales enquiries relating to conventional and renewable power plants.

• Provides Engineering advice to the Commercial team on the technical component of bids.

• Responsible for translating technical requirements from RFQ/Tender documents into solutions that meet the customer needs, are practically implementable.

• Support with material specifications and costing inputs for bespoke purchases. 

• Responsible for managing outline engineering and cost input deliverables

• Displays a commitment to Operational Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

• Engineering degree qualification. Chartered status would be advantageous.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of Power Engineering and/or renewables.

• Knowledge gensets, load banks and TC equipment and associated applications

• Technical expertise and hands-on experience in the construction and operation of power plants

• Professional technical experience in electrical design, including power system planning and engineering

• Team player and personally enthusiastic

• Action - focused – reliable, committed to completing tasks.

• Resilience – persistent, positive and self-reliant.

• Fully conversant with power generation equipment, Energy Storage systems, Solar PV & associated support infrastructure.

• Ability to view situations and conduct themselves in an objective and impartial manner.

• Positive Change orientation and motivator.

• Must be culturally sensitive and understand international business protocol.

• Able to travel internationally and extensively within Asia

• Cross cultural work experience is advantageous.
