Job Title: Lead Application Engineer
Location: Cork
Reports to: AE Director
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to understand their design challenges and propose technical solutions, guidance on methodology and best practices.
- Act as the primary technical interface for customers on schematic capture and PCB front-end flows
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Engineering and Marketing teams to drive product improvements and increase proliferation of Cadence solutions.
- Consult and understand the innovative design needs from customers and communicate with internal teams.
- Conduct technical demos, training sessions and workshops for customers and partners
- Debug complex schematic design issues, netlisting problems, library inconsistencies and design flows
- Creating high impact knowledge article content, tool adoption kits and other high-level documents to increase the self-help of customers
- Establish technical credibility and rapport with the customer and become the go-to expert for all their technical inquiries and support
- Assume technical leadership roles in small teams as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
- BE/BTech -7Years+
- ME/MS/MTech - 5years+
- Hands-on experience with PCB design/ EDA industry
Requirements and Technical Skills
Minimum:
- Solid understanding of PCB design flows with Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL/Orcad Capture
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience in Hardware Design Engineering, CAD, or application / technical support roles
- Knowledge about Product Life Management Cycle system
- Translate customer requirements into EDA workflows, best practices, and automation solutions
- Ability to quickly analyse design environments and design complexity
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with both external customers and R&D teams
Preferred:
- System-level design and large-scale schematic environments
- Experience in high-speed and complex PCB design environments
- Familiarity with complete PCB design cycle and CAD tools involved
- Exposure with TCL, SKILL, python or equivalent script language
- Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles
