Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.
Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.
More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionYour mission will be to deeply understand the needs of South Korean and Japanese customers, and help your team focus on solving their most critical problems.
You'll be part of the APAC regional analytics growth pod, a group of analysts who collectively look after market-level growth strategy across the region. Within that pod, you'll own South Korea and Japan, but you'll be working alongside peers covering other APAC markets, sharing playbooks, comparing what's working across countries, and shaping (cross)-regional strategy together.
The focus of this team is to ensure that customers in South Korea and Japan use Wise in the most seamless, cost-effective, convenient, and fast way. The goal for you, in this role, will be to focus on and impact parts of our product that will help us scale 10x as we enable core functionality for global money transfers. South Korea and Japan sit at two very different points in Wise's growth journey, and this role spans both:
South Korea is in its expansion phase. You will help create the roadmap for Wise's growth in the country, identify which parts of our global product to prioritise bringing to Korean customers next, and build the foundational understanding of the market that will shape our growth bets over the coming years.
Japan is one of our more mature markets. Here, your focus will shift toward improving conversion, retention, and engagement within our existing funnels, and leading product discovery to uncover the customer segments and use cases where Wise should build new products or expand into adjacent problems.
Balancing "grow the market" and "deepen the market" in a single team is what makes this role unusual, and it's why we're hiring an experienced analyst who can move fluently between the two growth strategies.
How you’ll contribute:
Provide data-driven insight to inform product decisions across both markets: from reducing friction in the South Korea onboarding flow to identifying leaks and opportunities in Japan's more established funnels.
Partner with product manager(s), engineering and other analysts to set KPIs for the South Korea and Japan teams, and monitor the impact of new features on conversion, stickiness, and engagement.
Lead product discovery work in South Korea and Japan to surface customer segments and use cases where Wise should invest in new products or capabilities.
Understand customers in both markets deeply and the impact of our product on their lives, recognising that the needs, expectations, and financial behaviours of Korean and Japanese customers differ meaningfully from each other and from other Wise markets.
Build conviction on high-value areas and challenge them if there are faster or more effective ways to grow each market.
Inspire a team environment where ideas are shared and openness is valued.
Make contributions to the wider product goals of the company to achieve our Mission: Money without borders.
Work cross-functionally within the APAC analytics and with global teams, sharing insights across markets and ensuring South Korea and Japan initiatives connect to Wise's broader regional and global strategy.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Choose your path to impact – we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. So rather than telling you what to do, you’ll work with your team to create a vision of your own. Of course, you can always gather feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll have the freedom to make your own calls
Grow as a Product Analyst – Grow and inspire your team and others across Wise
Get amazing exposure to the full breadth and depth of our product while working with a group of multi disciplinary teams of amazing, smart and dedicated product analysts, engineers, product managers, researchers, designers and many more
The freedom to have real impact – The opportunities you’ll identify are key to Wise reaching future millions of customers and redefining how payments work internationally at scale
What we’re looking for:
Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in a similar or progressive role.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
Strong analytical mind and product intuition, ideally with exposure to the South Korean and/or Japanese banking, payments, or financial services industry
Technically confident in advanced SQL and python
Experience working with technical teams (PMs, engineers, analysts)
Relevant experience in a data driven and complex environment with limited guidance
Understanding of events data - Mixpanel / Google Analytics / Amplitude or similar
Excellent data visualisation and presentation skills
Hustler-mentality. You can take work beyond the analysis and get things done.
Good to have:
Professional fluency or working proficiency in Korean or Japanese is a plus.
Knowledge of the fintech ecosystem in South Korea and Japan
Knowledge of regulations and competitive landscape
Knowledge of utilities like Airflow/Github/DBT
Experience on funnel optimization
Experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
Interest in learning new tools
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
